Why Grow Roses?
Welcome to the wonderful world of roses, the world’s most favourite flower. Growing roses is easy provided you do the basics right and you will be rewarded with gorgeous blooms in your garden.
We all grow roses for different reasons. Most of us grow roses to provide colour and interest in the garden alongside other plants and to bring blooms inside and enjoy them. Others grow roses to enter in rose shows, photograph, paint, cook with and creating new varieties.
Roses are extremely versatile and resilient providing blooms from November to May in a range of colours, forms, sizes and habits so there is a rose for every situation. It’s also hard to go past the fact that roses are known for their fragrance and there are many fragrant roses to grow.
New Zealand has a great climate for growing roses with fairly good growing conditions over most of the country.
On this website, we will regularly post new content related to all aspects of growing roses but to really further your knowledge of the queen of flowers, why not join the rose society today.
