The garden is indeed named after Klamath Falls in Oregon, USA as it is a sister city with Rotorua in NZ.

We passed the garden on a recent shore excursion from the Dawn Princess. We are very curious to know how it got its name, as we live in the State of Oregon, where Klamath Falls is a small community linked with the Klamath Indians (not directly related to the coastal British Columbia band whose artist provided the totem.

We would appreciate any information.

Thank you.

Unfortunitely, I don't think your rose will come away from the rootstock and grafting is probably not a practical option. A replacement standard 'Claude Monet' can be obtained by mail order from Tasman Bay Roses in Motueka - www.tbr.co.nz

Hi,
Winds in Auckland yesterday caused my standard Claude Monet Rose to snap in half, despite being staked for protection. Is there anyway that I can save this plant by either leaving the roots in the ground or grafting branches etc??
If not, any idea where I can get a replacement Claude Monet Standard rose???
Thanks, Teresa

I'm looking for a pillar rose which is fragrant, disease resistant, and long flowering or repeat flowering. Can you give me some suggestions please? The site is all day sun. Could you also indicate where I can buy it?

I'm also looking for roses that have nice rosehips in winter, to plant as a hedge. Again fragrant, disease resistant and long flowering. One hedge with mainly morning sun, and one with mainly evening sun.

I would much appreciate if you could help me with this.

Thanks,
Ans

I suggest you try and get one mail order for winter 2010 from either D & S Nurseries (www.4arose.co.nz) or Tasman Bay Roses (www.tbr.co.nz).
