Napier
We meet usually on the 2nd Friday of each month September-December and February-May, at 1.30pm usually, in a variety of settings – some at cafes. There are no meetings in June and August - in July a public Rose Pruning Demonstration is held. See below for 2012′s happenings….
Visitors are more than welcome to join us. At all our cafe meetings members are provided with a drink – visitors are asked to pay for their own.
February – 10th: 2pm at the Kennedy Park Rose Gardens, Storkey St. Meet by the pond, bring your own chair and afternoon tea, etc to enjoy after a wander through the beautiful gardens. Everyone welcome to join us. If wet – meet at the Wyndham Cafe, Main Rd, Clive.
March 9th: 1.30pm: Meet at the Golflands Cafe, Mangaterere (just past the Havelock North turn-off going south) Competition: Floribunda stem (vases supplied)
April 13th: 1.30pm: AGM at the Masonic Village Hall, Avondale Rd. Guest Speaker: Tony Billing from the Napier City Council Parks & Reserves Dept. Competition: 3 roses of any variety in 1 vase/container (vases will be supplied). Afternoon tea provided.
May 11th: 1.30pm: Mitre 10 Napier Café. Competition: “Last Rose of Summer) (vases supplied).
July 8th or 15th: 2pm: Public Pruning – Hands on Demonstration at Kennedy Park.
Subscription rates are $25 per annum per person/family or $10 as an Associate member (i.e.one who already belongs to another Rose Society) - January-December year, due by March 31st.
An informative bi-monthly newsletter is posted or mailed electronically to all members.
