Napier

We meet on the 2nd Friday of each month September-December and February-May usually at 1.30pm, in a variety of cafe settings. Visitors are more than welcome to join us. Our AGM in April will be held on the 3rd Friday.

Upcoming meetings until July are as follows:

March 12th, 1.30pm - at Cafe Botannix, in Palmers Garden Centre, Taradale Rd, Napier. Competition: “Best large Stem” (vases supplied); Question time; a brain-teasing pencil/paper quiz! Visitors are asked to pay for their own refreshments.

April 16th, 1.30pm - AGM - at the Living Waters Church Hall, cnr Norfolk St & Durham Ave, Tamatea, Napier. After the meeting a staging demonstration will be held. All are welcome to join us for the meeting and the demonstration. Afternoon tea provided.

May 14th, 1.30pm - at Wild Roses Cafe, Missionview Gardens, off Wharerangi Rd, Greenmeadows. Competition: “The Last Rose of Summer” (vases supplied); Question time; “Cycles and Roses”. Visitors are asked to pay for their own refreshments.

No meeting in June

July: Sunday 4th, weather permitting, or 11th, 1.30pm. A Public Rose Pruning display will be held at the Kennedy Park Rose Gardens, Storkey St, Napier. The public are invited to bring their gloves and secateurs and have a go under the guidance of Rose Society members. A raffle will be available. Prior to the Pruning Demonstration members meet for a ’soup/n/buns’ lunch at the adjoining Kennedy Park Top 10 Resort kitchen.

Subscription rates are $25 per annum per person/family - January-December year, due by March 31st.

An informative newsletter is posted or mailed electronically bi-monthly to all members.
