About us

We are a membership of rose enthusiasts, coming together to learn about the cultivation of roses and care of the gardens in general.  We are keen to share knowledge and experiences and generally enjoy our gardens.

About our meetings

We have regular meetings in Wellington and in Plimmerton. These meetings are not limited to members and everyone is welcome to join us, especially if you are visiting in the Wellington region.

The meeting format, venue and times are varied.  The details will be updated on this site and also published in our Monthly Rose Report.

July Report Cover Rose - Paddy Stephens

Porta Frames

Paddy Stephens

Sam McCredy registered this amazing HT rose in 1991. It has a host of good qualities. It does best as an exhibition rose but maturing into a wonderful fully open rose. It grows to about 4 feet high (120cms); the glossy green foliage is lush.  It is listed among the five most disease resistant roses.  Its coral-orange-salmon colour make it eye-catching in the garden. It does not have great scent but is repeat flowering and very generous with flowers. Hamilton Gardens is a recent “Sport” of Paddy Stephens.   A top rose.  Paul Shannahan sm

These are available from Porta-Frames NZ, owned and manufactured by Brian and Gay Burne, 160 Massey Street, Frankton, Hamilton.
